Wether you are new or a seasoned entrepreneur keeping yourself motivated in your home business is key to your success.  Internal motivation is required, so relying on someone else to motivate you will never result in success. If your reasons for working your home based business is not strong enough, then its unlikely that you will last the distance. Below is a list of 10 ideas to keep yourself motivated.

1) Goal setting - Be very specific in your goal setting, write them out for 90 days, monthly, weekly and daily. Then break it down into small actionable steps.

2) Exercise and Healthy Diet – Make exercise a part of your routine and keep a healthy diet.  A healthy body equals a healthy mind.

3) Personal Development – Keep at least 20 minutes a day where you allocate to some form of Personal Development wether it be reading or listening. Feeding your mind the ‘right’ stuff is essential to remaining focused.

4) Create a Balanced Life – Its important to work your business like a business and not a hobby, but you must also create balance and enjoy other aspects of your life such as your family and making time for yourself.

5) Listen and learn – Seek a motivated and successful leader one who inspires you to do more. Watch and learn and absorb as much as you can on a continual basis.

6) Reward Yourself  - Make sure you reward yourself for even the smallest successes. Its all about progress.

7) Build a vision board – create pictures of your lifestyle in the future. words, pictures, symbols whatever is your motivator and reason for going through your journey.

Surround Yourself with positive people – This is not always easy when we are continually surrounded by nay sayers and the dream stealers, so important to be on training calls, attend events whatever you have to to be around like minded people.

9) Set daily task lists – Different methods work for different people. You can either use a spreadsheet with a daily method of operation with scheduled timeslots for everything you do, or if you have to be more flexible because of responsiblities of raising children then you can use a whiteboard to write down tasks you need to achieve each day.

10) Stay focussed – Dont let anything distract you from your goals – no matter what obstacles arise or what plans everybody else has for you. You be in control of your circumstances . Nobody else.

People often wonder what it takes to really build a successful internet business in the middle of a recession. Why is it that some people are making thousands of dollars per week in an internet business whilst others are going broke.  Well, one thing I know for sure is that people are often caught out by money making scams on the inernet where they promise to make you a truckload of cash in a few short weeks, without doing anything, selling anything , talking to anyone and you can do it all in your sleep.  Well, if you believe that…. then I suggest you keep your job and save your money

The path of setting up a profitable internet business is certainly not ‘easy’ but CAN be achieved by anyone with the willingness to learn and a drive to succeed that does not waiver.  These 5 steps are REQUIREMENTS if you want to make money in any internet business online.

1)  Internet marketing skills – first of all you must get an education. Learn exactly how to generate leads, how to build your list, how to incorporate autoresponders and how to build a relationship with your list.  You must become a master at your craft – in other words become a master marketer through continuous marketing education.

2) Internet Presence – You Inc.  Understand the principle behind branding yourself online and write articles, do videos, build up your profiles on social networks, write press releases, whatever you have to do to ensure that if someone searches your name on google they will find content on your name. Its a way of establishing that you know what you are doing.

3)  Monetizing your leads – In order to stay in the game long enough to make the real money you need to have a funded proposal in place so that you can profit from leads that come into your funnel wether they decide to join your primary business or not. You can market affiliate products that provide valuable tools and resources OR you can be even smarter and have a system in place that automatically monetizes your leads for you.

4) Phone Skills – Ok, so before you stop breathing here. I am not talking about becoming a super slick salesman – I am referring to having posture on the phone and being confident and able to lead the conversation and direct people to the information. No one likes to be a salesman (apart from the exceptional few) but learning the skills to have a conversation and just be in control is paramount if you want to be seen as a leader. 5) Consistency – building up a six figure income does not come overnight – nor should you expect it to. You need to take massive action and be consistent , regardless of what you ‘perceive’ as your results because filling the pipeline is necessary for something to come out the other end.

Just recently I was recognised on my company’s newsletter as a Rising star and I can assure you that was only achieved by following the above steps.  Every person has to start from the same place and learn these skills, and its a sad fact that less than 5% will have the staying power to reach their true potential.

To Your Success

1)   It dawned on me that if I didnt set out to create my own income potential and create my own hours, then someone else would. The idea of having to work for a boss for the rest of my life for very little pay was not going to cut it. I then determined that I was going to succeed in a home based business no matter what it took

2)  It dawned on me quickly that I would rather be broke than chase friends and family and have ‘by the way’ conversations with strangers in the mall. So, I decided to learn how to create my own leads. I came across something called Google Adwords, and because my sponsors had no clue about online marketing I had to teach myself and learn what I could from the internet. I purchased a book by Perry Marshall called Definitive Guide to Google and away I went. I had some success but really didnt know what I was doing. It didnt stop me though I was going to succeed no matter what.

3) It dawned on me that while everyone else in my company was chasing friends, holding parties, delivering flyers and cold calling leads that it would make much more business sense to have people contacting me and wanting to join my business instead of being in the ‘convincing’ game. So, I stumbled across a little e-book and video series by Mike Dillard called Magnetic Sponsoring. Little did I know what a huge impact this incredibly powerful book would have on my business and my life.  I knew exactly at that point that there was hope and there was no need to be hunting and prospecting people, that I could easily create marketing that would attract qualified people to me.

4) I then realised  shortly after, that the company I was with selling vitamins and health shakes was not a good fit for attraction marketing and most top income earners in the industry were not peddling vitamin products but rather working in ‘top tier’ companies. I then realised  that the previous 4 years I had spent trying to fill a leaking bucket and continually sponsoring people just to replace the fall out from previous months was going to be a continuous cycle. The internet had changed MLM forever.

5) It dawned on me after looking at my Top Tier company that the most important thing in becoming successful was learning to market and having a valuable skill in the marketplace that would allow you to market anything, anytime to anyone. No matter what I chose to do in the future I would have skills that I could take with me wherever and build successful businesses online. I had the realisation that it wasnt money people needed most of all – it was skills.

6) I then figured out that with my  top tier  program I would make up to $1K, $5K and up to $7.5K per sale, but not only that , I would also make between $400 and $4K every time my teammates made a sale. I thought to myself what I could attract serious people to my team who were fed up of not knowing how to generate their own leads and not making money and teach them EVERYTHING  I knew about marketing? What if I could leverage my time out to a few select serious entrepreneurs who were ready to do whatever it took and teach them how to make money then I too would benefit. Its a win win situation. Shortly after that I attracted my first serious marketer fed up on piddly checks who I attracted through facebook (a free marketing method) and had my first $9000 day.

7)  I then continued to sharpen my marketing skills and became a sponge learning everything I could and became very very good at marketing. I have had my articles featured in Mike Dillards newsletter out to his massive network marketing list, I have over 14K followers on Twitter, have over 100 videos on You Tube, and now I have the priveledge of working with the best PPC Google Adwords trainers on the internet. I no longer have to bumble around trying to figure it all out for myself, I get to learn the insider secrets from seven figure earners and I have a thirst for sharing my knowledge with hungry , motivated entrepreneurs.

I share with you these moments because I know for a fact that there are people reading this right now who have been in my shoes and who could be future Internet Marketing stars but are hesitant about what sort of training they will get and wether they really can be successful. Network Marketing and Multi Level Marketing have been around for at least 50 years and has produced many multi-millionaires within the industry. There are still some companies trading publicly today that have been going strong for at least 30 years or more and spread to well over 70 countries and millions of distributors.  So, of course, as a new person looking for a network marketing business you want to choose something that has a track record but let me ask you this. Is the company being successful necessarily going to mean that the majority or distributors are successful.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. In fact its quite common that around 97% of people will spend more money than they make or quit within their first 90 days.  Why does it have such a high failure rate? Well mostly because most network marketers are taught to convince and sell their business to anyone who will listen.  They are taught to believe that their network marketing business is needed by everyone around them. The sad fact is, that most people do not have that entreprenuerial drive that is actually required to succeed.

I have witnessed huge growth and duplication in certain cultures where belly to belly marketing is done with enthusiam, but for most of the western world people want to work from the comfort of home, work their own hours and not have to any cold hard selling.

There are many opportunites out there – too many to list and a large majority of those are made up on nutritional or supplement companies. Each one of these,  convinced that they have the best products on the planet.  Most distributors are taught that recruiting will be easy because the product sells itself and because of that everyone will just be dying to join them. If you have had any experience at all with this, you will know that is a flat out lie.  It has nothing to do with your products, and everything to do with leadership and systems that help teach people ‘how’ to be successful.

In the era of the internet, people now are way more inclined to want to work a business model that can be run on the internet and in order to do that then you have to know how to market. Alot of companies out there ‘pretend’ to be an internet marketing business but then still teach you to buy leads , cold call friends and family and hold home meetings. When choosing the best network marketing business online you must make sure they have a system and education platform to teach you how to become a skilled and professional marketer because without those skills your business is doomed.

You do not want to be tied the phone calling all your leads, you also need a system that can sift and sort for you , so that you can focus your time on marketing and fine tuning your marketing skills.  There are companies out there now that even have call centres in place to call your leads for you. When deciding on a network marketing business make sure you choose one that will leverage your time so that you are not just peddling products for tiny commisions and working it like a job.

In my years of being an online marketer I have noticed a very alarming factor in the majority of people is that mostly they are chasing some sort of system or program that promises easy riches. Sadly, this ends up leading to frustration and failure because there is NO majic system or program thats going to hand money to you on a platter.

When they fail with one system, then they move onto the next usually blaming their lack of success on the system or program. And I know without a shadow of a doubt that in fact there is one missing ingredient that most people have and that is marketing skills. Everybody is so busy chasing rainbows and that pot of gold instead of  getting educated and acquiring skills that will remain with you for life so you can market anything to anyone, anywhere in the world. If you go on and make money without skills, then you will not learn to replenish your money if something should happen to the company you are with.

I know from experience after spending 4 years in one MLM company that when I decided to move on that my biggest failure was that after 4 years I had no real skills that I could take with me to immediately start building another business. Sure, I had grown through Personal Development and discipline etc, but no real skills other than company specific training that you could not apply to another business.

Gaining a proper internet marketing education can be the difference between short term success and writing your own paycheck for life. Imagine having the skills to market anything to anyone at any time. This is something that no one can take from you, you own it and you are now a valuable commodity in the market place.

This morning I had the most interesting conversation with a lady who had opted into MY website, taken my phone number, then called me. Once I called her back she immediately proceeded to pitch me on her many businesses when quite clearly I had not asked for information. This is not SKILL, this is pure stupidity! Sadly, this is being taught to many network marketers and does nothing for a person’s morale. If you want to become a telemarketer, go and get a job. If you want to be a true entrepreneur, become a skilled professional and learn from the best. There is no need in the age of the internet to be telemarketing your business.

Donald Trump  wouldnt do it and neither should you.  Give up chasing rainbows and take your career and business seriously by getting the education you need.

There is a right way and a wrong way to using social media and one thing I have certainly come across also is that social media marketing can also be very very time consuming if you dont know how to effectively use your time. To Your Social Media Success

The one thing that is on people’s minds right now is  - Is Liberty League International a Scam? Well I am not going to talk about my opinion here because quite frankly there is enough unsubstantiated opinion floating around on the internet.

What I do most certainly know is that Liberty League International is being investigated by the Fair Trading Commission in NSW.  Is this related to the name change along with compensation plan changes within the company? Well that I dont know – but Liberty League International has now changed its name to Polaris Media Group.

Some of the other major changes within the company are:

• A whole new range of products 20+
• A new pay plan that offers a back end residual pay plan (which seems remarkably similar to MLM)
• New websites and marketing strategies

I do know that some of these changes have made some of the company’s representitives a little nervous and feeling deflated as its not the same company and plan they signed up for.  With the introduction of a whole new product line though it does seem fair to say that there is now a viable retail option for the products.

Liberty League, however, is not the first company to make changes or receive complaints or lawsuits. In fact some of the biggest companies in Network Marketing that have been around for 30 years or more and still growing strong have been through many law suits and attacks by the public. Its a part of the growth of a company I believe. People love to sling mud though and I do have to laugh at the reaction of  the public , particularly those who are stuck in a job and dont believe making more than $50K a year is possible. Its particularly interesting to find ‘review’ sites (scam alert sites) that have a whole string of threads and posts about scams and that target traffic to their blog (woops I mean “review” site) by attracting mud slingers for more traffic.  People dont spend hours building a review site blog for the fun of it and without a purpose – its either to direct traffic to their own money making opportunity or they are making money by monetizing the blog itself.

Wether Polaris Media Group manages to remain trading is yet to be seen, but if the company does have a strong foundation and built on integrity then it will remain to grow. If it doesnt, then alot of reps will be left without an income and alot of them without any great marketing skills to be able to pick up and just use their skill to market something else.

I am not in any way associated with Liberty League, however , I did at one point look at it and the reason I chose not to pursue it and chose my current direction was because ultimately I knew that I had to become valuable in the marketplace and get an online marketing education. I needed to become a skilled marketer so that I had skills that no one could ever take from me and that no matter what company I was with or what happened I had something of value to offer and could simply choose to market anything and have the skills to do that.

I guess the moral of this whole story is dont let your business opportunity be all about the product and promoting the company. Its incredibly essential for YOU to become your own best commodity and get the education in marketing you need to make a success no matter what.
