Here is some great practical advice I received from Mike Dillard.  If you dont already know Mike Dillard is a self-made millionaire. He went from waiting tables to millionaire status in 18 months – so he is definetely someone you want to listen to.

So, here’s what Mike says:

Tip 1) What do other network marketer’s want? This is the question you need to ask yourself in order to attract them to you. Give them what they want. Solve their problems for them. Then you will attract them effortlessly.

Tip 2) Do not spend time trying to convince people why they should join you! Newbies do this all the time, the pros never do. Give people real value and you will never have to pitch your business ever again.

Tip 3) If you are buying leads, you are lazy. Learn to generate your own, otherwise go and get a job.

Tip 4) Every night before you go to bed write down 5 things you want to achieve the next day. This way you will wake up with your goals in mind.  And with each task you complete you are one step closer to achieving your ULTIMATE goals.

Tip 5) Confidence is a decision. People judge you by the way you look and sound, so if necessary give yourself a physical/mental make-over. In your videos and your pictures do not look like you just got out of bed.

Tip 6) Learn copywriting. You will need to master this skill in order to write ANYTHING in this industry – even something as simple as ad copy. You need to know the phsycological triggers that make people respond and take action.

One of my favourite marketing strategies is Pay Per Click on google adwords as its fast at producing leads and you can control your leadflow. However, as a newbie marketer this method is the hardest to master and of course the most costly.

However, there is a way that you can put out some content on the internet ONCE and have traffic from that one post for years to come. Its called article or content marketing and its extremely powerful in not only getting you highly targeted leads, but it also gives you, as the author, enourmous internet presence as well as you being seen as a leader and authority on the subject.

When you create a blog post, a squidoo lens, an article or video on youtube, that little piece of marketing stays on the internet forever and if you do your research first in what keywords to use to rank high, you may even have your content come up on PAGE 1 OF GOOGLE!  I know, because I have had several videos and articles that have come up on the first page of google within 24 hours.

It’s extremely powerful and its like having your own piece of real estate on the internet and there is NO limit to how much real estate you can own on google for free.

Imagine if you just created 10 articles or videos with linkbacks to your website and you submit them to just 6 article directories – thats 60 pieces of content created from just 10. Now, imagine if you get serious and do 1 piece a day for 90 days, and then submit them to again 6 directories, thats 540 pieces of content out there bringing you free traffic and leads.

Now, assuming you only get an average of 5 visitors per month from each article (this is just an example), then this equates to 2700 visitors to your website each and every month for free.  As you can see, what may only take about 30-60 mins a day and by leveraging certain tools to distribute your content you can have a little army of content pieces out there working for you 24/7.

This is a great strategy if you are on a bootsrap budget and I can assure you is highly effective. You only have to go and google my name and see exactly how I have created a web on content out there or linking back to me.

Now,  get to work and start leveraging the internet.
